You just got your cockatiel. He's quiet not eating, sleeping or drinking. This is completely normal.

Think of it this way. Your home one day with your friends and family talking laughing, having a good time. Then out of the blue,a bunch of giants come and everyone is running away from him,but then, the giant grabs you.You were taken away from your friends and never see them again. The giant puts you in a new home. I doubt your going to just start cooking and bathing and watching TV,right?

Your going to be scared, just sitting in one place. After some time you'll get used to your new home. You'll bond with the giant.

That's it there.Give your bird some time to settle, about 2-7 days. Some birds are different. I once had a bird you settle in less than an hour. Shocked

You can refill your birds food and water dish but refrain from any taming on the first day. You can read or talk to it or put on a TV or radio.

Once your bird is settled you can begin taming it.If isn't tame as yet.

A settled bird will be chirping, eating (well they rarely drink anyway).

Give your bird some time,it'll make a difference.

Yep! Don't try and rush it or you could loose your chance to gain your birds trust. Once that happens, it can be even harder to gain a birds' trust.
