| Welcome.
Love your pics especially the third one down. What a happy little bird.
I always wondered are tiels very expensive in Oz? Do you need a permit for them since they are native birds? Years ago on a forum I was on a lady found a wild injured cockatoo and nursed it back to health. Since it needed vet help it was reported and she had an terrible time convincing the authorities to let her keep it as it couldn't be released. They were going to destroy it. Eventually she got to keep it.
Anyhow welcome

| Thank you, Yogi! No, we don't need a permit here... Do you need one in the US? I bought mine directly from the breeder and paid about 1/3 of what tiels cost in shops. I paid 40 dollars for this little bundle of joy, and in shops they usually cost about 120. The breeder was an amazing lady. She lived in a house with a small garden, but the house itself was of the size of an apartment, and in this house the had 11 dogs, probably about 20 birds (with the aviary outside) as well as a room with reptiles! She was fascinating. That's how I would like to live one day! I am glad your friend could keep the cockatoo! | |
